The decision about Newborn Circumcision is a very personal one.

Medical evidence does not recommend strongly for or against Newborn Circumcision. However families may choose to have their son circumcised for cultural or cosmetic reasons.

The Canadian Pediatric Society's Caring for Kids page has information about circumcision that you may find helpful. This article from the Globe and Mail summarizes the questions and considerations parents may have when deciding about circumcision.

Because it is not a medically necessary procedure, the cost of newborn circumcision is not covered by the Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP).
